Liverpool Academy (LA) Productions was founded in 2000 by producer Colin McKeown MBE;
a 50-year veteran of the television and film industry. We are a truly independent TV production company known not just for creating award-winning drama, but also for our commitment in nurturing new talent and showcasing the wealth of creativity - both on and off camera - which exists in the glorious North West.

Colin McKeown
Producer/ Company Founder
Colin is primarily known as a drama and film producer but has also produced factual, comedy, documentaries and light entertainment programmes. With nearly 50 years experience in the industry, he’s worked pretty much everywhere, on everything.
General Manager
Sharon is the main point of contact when wishing to discuss general business, facilities and staff.
Post Production Supervisor
Faye is the main point of contact when wishing to discuss Post Production projects, services, studios and suites.
LA Corporate and Creative
Paul has been working in the video and media industry for over 40 years. With a background in television drama and then corporate production, he moved into producing and directing video and factual programs in the late 80's. After spending several years living and working in Canada and the US, he is now based back in the UK and, after a couple of years as LA's Head of Post Production, Paul now looks after the commercial and creative aspects of the business.
Donna Molloy
Producer/ Head of Production
Donna is an experienced producer and line producer who has been making consistent and compelling broadcast film and television for over 15 years. Her numerous credits include ‘Reg’ (BBC1), ‘Common’ (BBC1) and ‘Moving On’ (BBC1). She is also the producer of ‘Broken’; LA Productions’ six-part, prime-time drama series starring Sean Bean and Channel 5Star’s first original drama series, ‘Clink’. Most recently, Donna has produced the hit Channel 5 drama, Compulsion.
Daniel Dobinson
Head of Development
Daniel oversees LA’s development slate and is also a Script Editor and Scriptwriter, having graduated from LJMU's Undergraduate and MA Programmes. From concept to commission, Daniel works with writers to get their scripts to the best place possible. Alongside his team he also sources new writing and originates new series ideas for development.
Head of Factual
Harry oversees factual development, helping produce and develop documentary projects that reflect and respond to the world around us. Having graduated from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, he now combines his background in journalism, theatre and film, to help shape an exciting new slate of factual content.
